Marinated Strawberries & Ice Cream

I made these strawberries for my Sunday School class and several people came to the store to get the vinegar, saying it was so, so good.

 

1 pint strawberries, sliced

1/2 cup Espresso or Dark Chocolate Balsamic Vinegar

1 teaspoon sugar (optional)

Ice cream, regular or lactose-free

In a medium bowl, place the strawberries, balsamic vinegar, and sugar if the berries aren't very sweet.  Marinate 1/2 hour, gently mixing 2-3 times.

Serve the strawberries and juice over ice cream or pound cake.

Serves 4.
