1 small onion, finely chopped
5 tablespoons Wild Mushroom & Sage Olive Oil, divided
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 tablespoon Worchester sauce (or Neapolitan Herb Balsamic)
1 tablespoon Steakhouse Seasoning or your favorite steak seasoning
2 tablespoons butter (or Butter Olive Oil)
2 cups sliced mushrooms
Salt and pepper
2 tablespoons flour
1 3/4 cup beef broth
In a large skillet, sauce the onion in 1 tablespoon Wild Mushroom & Sage Olive Oil for 2-3 minutes to take the bite out. Cool slightly.
In a bowl, combine the onions, ground beef, Worchester sauce, and steakhouse seasoning. Form into four patties. Saute the patties in 3 tablespoons of the mushroom & sage oil about 4 minutes. Remove to a plate.
Add 1 tablespoon mushroom & sage oil and the butter to the skillet and saute the mushrooms 3-5 minutes. Add salt and pepper. Sprinkle with the flour and cook 2 minutes. Add the beef broth and simmer until thickened, about 5-7 minutes. Return the patties to the sauce and heat through. Taste to see if you need to adjust salt and pepper.
Keep warm while making garlic mashed potatoes, rice or pasta.
