Savory Croutons

Fresh croutons are a great addition and easy to make.


1/2 loaf of stale rustic bread, such as Italian

3-4 tablespoons Unflavored, Tuscan Herb or House Blend Olive Oil

1 teaspoon coarse salt

1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon Salad Seasoning or Garlic Herb Dipping Spice (optional)

3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese (optional)

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Line a baking pan with parchment paper or foil.

Cut the bread in 3/4 inch cubes.  Place in a large bowl and add remaining ingredients.  Toss to combine ingredients.  Spread on the baking sheet in a single layer.

Bake the croutons 12-20 minutes, stirring once, until golden and crispy.  (Time will vary depending on type of bread used due to different moisture content.)

Let cool and serve or place in a plastic bag or other container.  Can be kept up to 1 week in the refrigerator.
