Spicy Orange Beef & Broccoli
3 tablespoons orange juice or dry sherry wine
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 cup water
1 pkg. beef gravy mix (like McCormick or Knorr)
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
1½ tablespoons Honey Ginger Balsamic Vinegar
¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
2 Tablespoons Sweet Valencia Orange Olive Oil or Blood Orange Olive Oil
1 lb. lean beef, cut into 1/4" strips
3 cups broccoli florets, fresh or frozen
In a small bowl or measuring cup, whisk together the orange juice, soy, water, gravy mix, ginger, balsamic vinegar and pepper flakes. Set aside.
Heat olive oil in a skillet, add beef and brown, stirring frequently about 3 minutes. Stir in broccoli and cook about 4 minutes until broccoli is tender. Stir in the sauce and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook for 2 minutes.
Serve with Jasmine rice, rice noodles or even ramen noodles.
